Open Meeting: Bezahlkarte
International Women* Space is offering an open meeting space to discuss the implemented “Bezahlkarten” in Germany. During the OPlatz Movement we fought against the Voucher System that was a tool by the German State to disenfranchise refugees. The Bezahlkarte has the same function, it isolates refugees from the rest of society and deprives them of self-determination.
This Bezahlkarte restricts refugees in their choice of which goods they can buy at which markets, how much cash they can withdraw and completely forbids money transfers outside of the country. Refugees with disabilities will face a higher risk of lack of access to health care because the Bezahlkarte is limited to paying for only few services.
This open meeting is a space to exchange and discuss about the Bezahlkarte and to talk about steps and ways of organizing against it and is open to everyone interested.
