Dear people of Berlin,

Since the war in Ukraine started, Europe has shown an unexpected, fast and unbureaucratic response welcoming refugees fleeing Ukraine. This reaction was not extended to BIPoC refugees fleeing the same bombs. IWS has teamed up with EOTO, ISD and Migrationsrat to collaboratively support BlPoC refugees arriving in Germany.

We need your help!

Can host BIPoC arriving from Ukraine – either short or long term?

Please let us know through this form >>>

Are you spontaneously out of town for a long weekend?
Is your flatmate leaving town for a week next moth and is willing to host in her room?
Your best mate mentioned she would be happy to host people, but nobody contacted her yet?
You had guests in your WG, had a week of rest, and now ready to host again?

Please get in touch with us! >>>

You can’t host anyone at the moment? Please help us by sharing this post with your network!

Our collective effort, in addition to finding accommodation, consists of:

Provide a warm daily meal, access to legal and psychological support, accompaniment and translation when necessary to contact immigration authorities.
Access to alternative spaces for learning German.
Offering welcoming spaces where people feel they belong, where people can rest, feel safe and calm to decide what direction they will give their lives.
Provide opportunity for refugee BIPoCs to connect with the city through the support of our broad network of individuals, organisations and institutions.
