Umgang mit (rassistischer) Polizeigewalt bei politischen Events // Dealing with (racist) police violence at political events

English below

– Was sollen die Verhafteten tun?

Dealing with (racist) police violence at political events

In recent years, in our demonstrations on 8 March and 25 November and other actions, we have been experienced increased police violence, especially racist police violence in the form of racial profiling, provocations, filming, confiscation of banners and flags, especially against the Kurdish women* block.

As we think that this will repeadly happen again at our next demonstrations, we are organizing an event to inform ourselfs how we can act in these kind of situations, especially against racist police brutality and racial profiling.

When: 25.10.2019, 7pm

Where: Aquarium, Skalitzer Str. 6, 10999

We want to discuss the following questions and beyond:

– What can or should I do if the cops (police) arrest someone next to me? What can I do if the cops attack one or more people during the demo? And what about after the demo?

– What should the detainees do?

– What can the cops do in the demo and what not? For exampels : Are they allowed to film? If they do something that we think is not allowed, what can we do about it?

For this event we have invited a confidential lawyer and also an expert on racist police violence. They will answer these questions. In addition there will also be a person from Rote Hilfe to inform you about the possibilities and help offered by Rote Hilfe.

In the end we want to give space for all your questions.

The event will be held in German and English. Please let us know in advance, so that we have enough time to organize translations in other languages.

We look forward to seeing you
