Speech by Jennifer Kamau from International Women* Space at the Demo Aktionstag 8. Mai with Aktionsbündnis Antira - ABA: Today we are here to remember the 8th of May, the German liberation from the fascists. The victims in Hanau, of the NSU, the murder of Oury Jalloh, of Rita Awuor Ojunge and many other unsolved cases are here to show us that racism is a weapon of mass destruction.

When the crowd gathered for the Women’s Day demonstration on March 8, 2020 at 10am in front of Cinema Riff at Grand Socco in Tangier, Moroccan feminists, Sub-Saharan women for freedom of movement, single mothers, and a few Europeans came together. The women of our local Alarm Phone team, all from Sub-Saharan Africa, would sit together afterwards with some of their friends from Europe and start to write down their experiences for this report.

Created in 2010, this project was born in the struggles against the border regime and for a decade has been providing information and contacts in almost all European countries as well as in various transit-countries around the Mediterranean.

For migrants living in Berlin, COVID-19 is raising questions about the health conditions of loved ones living abroad, as well as the rise of draconian measures that are linked with increased surveillance internationally. During this podcast episode, edna bonhomme speaks with two anticolonial migrants based in Berlin: Mugo Muna and Jennifer Kamau.

Motto: Die Zeit steht nicht still – Achtsamer Protest in Zeiten von Corona und Ausnahmezustand. Die Protestierenden sammelten sich einzeln und in Zweiergruppen, hielten 2 Meter Abstand und trugen überwiegend Mundnasenschutz. Nach 30 Minuten lösten die Versammelten ihren Protest auf. Vorher hatte die Polizei aufgefordert die Versammlung zu beenden.
