Women collectives from the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro self organized together a solidarity campaign – Teia de Solidariedade Zona Oeste - to attend invisibilized communities in the poorest area of Rio city, which already face serious consequences from the Coronavirus crisis.

Der International Women Space (IWS) veröffentlicht aus gegebenen Anlass Corona-Lager-Berichte. Die Corona-Lager-Berichte sind Audioaufnahmen persönlicher Zeugnisse von Frauen, die in Brandenburger Geflüchtetenunterkünften (Lager, Heime, Erstaufnahmeeinrichtungen) untergebracht sind.

Während Bundes- und Landesregierungen in nahezu allen Lebensbereichen strikte Maßnahmen gegen eine weitere Ausbreitung der COVID-19-Epidemie ergreifen, werden Geflüchtete in den Lagern (Aufnahmeeinrichtungen, Gemeinschaftsunterkünften, sogenannten Ankerzentren) und in der Abschiebehaft sowie Illegalisierte und Menschen ohne Krankenversicherungsschutz nur unzureichend geschützt.

More than one million people of African descent live in Germany. In the large #AFROZENSUS online survey, which will be launched in the spring of 2020, the life realities, discrimination experiences and perspectives of Black, African and Afro-diasporic people will be recorded for the first time.

IWS speech | March to commemorate the African victims of enslavement, colonialism and racism
For the 14th year, the Committee for an African Monument in Berlin organised a march to commemorate the African victims of enslavement, trafficking enslaved people, colonialism, neo-colonialism and racist violence. It is growing every year and we were happy to join the call to take to the streets.
